One more project has just signed this Tuesday (24), in the city of Maputo a financing agreement with the Catalytic Fund for Innovation and Demonstration (FCID).
It is the Murrerelo Project – Strengthening the productive and business capacity of small producers – to be developed by Miruku Coop, in the province of Nampula and Zambézia.
The project will benefit more than two (2) thousand small producers, of which 800 in Monapo in the province of Nampula and 1200 in Alto Molócue in Zambézia.
It is budgeted at about $ 450,000 for the expansion of support infrastructures for agrarian mechanization and the transfer of technologies and post-harvest infrastructure and opening up and access to new markets.
New technologies to be used include improved seeds, use of balanced fertilizers, inoculants and good agronomic practices (production and post-harvest) that will increase production volumes of small producers.
The districts of Monapo and Alto Molócue, in the provinces of Nampula and Zambézia, are potential producers of cassava, corn, cotton, beans, rice, peanuts, soybeans and cashew nuts.
